Ingredients
- Dried Seaweed Sheets (Gim) 🍙: 4 sheets
- Cooked Rice 🍚: 3 cups (short-grain)
- Sesame Oil 🍶: 2 tbsp
- Salt 🧂: 1/2 tsp
- Carrot 🥕: 1 medium, julienned
- Spinach 🥬: 1 bunch, blanched
- Yellow Pickled Radish (Danmuji) 💛: 4 strips
- Egg 🥚: 2, beaten and cooked into thin omelets, then sliced
- Imitation Crab Sticks 🦀: 4 sticks
- Bulgogi (Korean BBQ Beef) 🥩: Optional
- Cucumber 🥒: 1/2, julienned
- Sesame Seeds ✨: For garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Rice: Mix cooked rice with sesame oil and salt. Let it cool slightly. 🍚🍶🧂
- Prepare Ingredients: Cut carrots, cucumber, danmuji, egg omelet, and crab sticks into long, thin strips. Blanch spinach. 🥕🥒💛🥚🦀🥬
- Assemble Gimbap: Place a sheet of seaweed on a bamboo rolling mat (gimbap mat). 🍙
- Spread Rice: Spread a thin layer of rice evenly over the seaweed, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top edge. 🍚
- Add Fillings: Arrange the prepared ingredients horizontally across the rice, close to the bottom edge. 🥕🥬💛🥚🦀🥩🥒
- Roll Gimbap: Using the bamboo mat, tightly roll the gimbap from the bottom up. Press firmly as you roll. 🍙
- Seal the Roll: Moisten the top edge of the seaweed with a little water to seal the roll.💧
- Slice Gimbap: Brush the rolled gimbap with sesame oil. Slice into bite-sized pieces using a sharp knife. 🍶🔪
