Ingredients

  • 🌾 Besan (gram flour) – 2 cups
  • 🧂 Salt – 1 tsp
  • 🌿 Ajwain (carom seeds) – 1/2 tsp
  • 🌶️ Papads khar or baking soda – 1/4 tsp
  • 💧 Water – 1/2 cup (as needed)
  • 🌻 Oil – for deep frying

Instructions

  • 🥣 Mix flour, salt, ajwain, and soda in a bowl, then add oil and water to knead into a soft, smooth dough.
  • 🫓 Take small portions of the dough and roll them into thin, long strips using the palm of your hand on a flat surface.
  • 🔥 Heat oil in a deep pan over medium flame until it is hot enough for frying.
  • 🍳 Carefully drop the strips into the oil and fry until they turn light golden and become crispy.
  • ✨ Drain on paper towels and serve warm with spicy green chutney or papaya sambharo.
