Ingredients

  • 🍚 Basmati Rice – 2 cups, soaked
  • 🥣 Chickpeas – 1 cup, boiled
  • 🟢 Mung Dal – 1 cup, boiled
  • 🥛 Yogurt – 1 cup, whisked
  • 🥘 Ghee – 3 tbsp
  • 🌶️ Whole Spices – cumin, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon
  • 🧂 Turmeric & Salt – as per taste

Instructions

  • 🔥 Heat ghee in a large pot and bloom the whole spices until fragrant.
  • 🥣 Add the whisked yogurt to the pot, stirring constantly on low heat to prevent curdling.
  • 🥘 Incorporate the boiled chickpeas and mung dal into the yogurt base and simmer.
  • 🍚 Add the soaked rice and enough water to cook until fluffy and tender.
  • ✨ Serve warm in traditional leaf plates to enjoy the authentic communal experience.
