Ingredients
- 🍚 Basmati Rice – 1 cup, soaked for 20 mins
- 🧀 Paneer – 200g, cut into small cubes
- 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, thinly sliced
- 🫛 Green Peas – ¼ cup, fresh or frozen
- 🧈 Ghee or Oil – 2 tablespoons
- 🌿 Whole Spices – 1 bay leaf, 2 cardamoms, 1 tsp cumin
- 🧄 Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 teaspoon
- 🧂 Salt & Garam Masala – to taste
Instructions
- 🧀 Heat ghee in a pot and lightly fry paneer cubes until golden, then set aside.
- 🧅 Sauté whole spices and sliced onions in the remaining fat until soft and fragrant.
- 🍚 Add ginger-garlic paste, peas, and soaked rice, stirring gently to coat with oil.
- 💧 Pour in two cups of water and salt, then simmer covered until rice is tender.
- ✨ Gently fold in the fried paneer and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
