Bhagara rice

Ingredients

  • 🍚 Basmati Rice – 1 cup, washed and soaked
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • 🌿 Mint & Coriander – handful, freshly chopped
  • 🧄 Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
  • 🥄 Ghee or Oil – 2 tbsp
  • 🌱 Whole Spices – Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves, Bay leaf
  • 🧂 Shahi Jeera – 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 💧 Water – 2 cups

Instructions

  • 🔥 Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pot and sauté the whole spices until fragrant.
  • 🧅 Add sliced onions and fry until they are soft and light golden brown.
  • 🌿 Stir in ginger-garlic paste, mint, and coriander, cooking until the raw smell disappears.
  • 🍚 Add water and salt; once it begins to boil, mix in the soaked rice gently.
  • 🥘 Cover with a lid and cook on low heat until the rice is fluffy and water is fully absorbed.
