Ingredients

  • 🍗 Chicken or Lamb – 500g cut into pieces
  • 🧅 Onions – 2 large, thinly sliced and fried
  • 🥣 Yogurt – 1 cup whisked
  • 🫚 Ginger-Garlic Paste – 2 tablespoons
  • 🌿 Awadhi Spice Blend (Cardamom, Cloves, Cinnamon) – 1 tablespoon
  • 🥘 Ghee or Oil – 3 tablespoons
  • 🥛 Saffron milk – 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  • 🥣 Marinate the meat in yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and aromatic spices for at least 30 minutes.
  • 🔥 Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan and sauté the marinated meat until browned.
  • 🧅 Add the fried onions and a splash of water, covering the pan to cook on low heat until tender.
  • ✨ Drizzle with saffron milk and let it simmer for a final 5 minutes to infuse the delicate flavors.
  • 🍽️ Serve hot with soft naan or fragrant rice for an authentic Awadhi dining experience.
