Ingredients
- 🧊 Firm tofu – pressed and cut into cubes
- 🥔 Potato starch – for coating
- 🍄 Shiitake mushrooms – thinly sliced
- 🥣 Dashi stock – 1 cup
- 🍶 Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
- 🥢 Mirin – 2 tbsp
- 🧅 Scallions – finely chopped for garnish
- 🥕 Grated daikon radish – optional topping
Instructions
- 🧊 Pat tofu very dry and coat evenly in potato starch, shaking off excess.
- 🍳 Heat oil in a pan and fry tofu cubes until golden and crispy on all sides.
- 🍲 Combine dashi, soy sauce, and mirin in a small saucepan and add mushrooms; simmer for 5 minutes.
- 🥣 Place crispy tofu in bowls and pour the warm mushroom dashi sauce around the base.
- ✨ Garnish with chopped scallions and grated daikon before serving immediately.
