Ingredients
- 1 lb extra-firm tofu, torn into chunks 🧊
- 1 cup soy milk 🥛
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar 🍎
- 1 cup all-purpose flour 🌾
- 1/2 cup cornstarch 🌽
- 1 tbsp paprika 🌶️
- 1 tsp garlic powder 🧄
- 1 tsp onion powder 🧅
- 1 tsp dried oregano 🌿
- Salt and black pepper to taste 🧂
- Vegetable oil for frying 🌻
Instructions
- Whisk soy milk and apple cider vinegar together in a bowl to create vegan buttermilk; let sit for 5 minutes. 🥛
- In a separate shallow dish, combine flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. 🥣
- Dip each tofu chunk into the buttermilk mixture, then coat thoroughly in the seasoned flour blend. 🥢
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. 🍳
- Fry tofu chunks in batches until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. 🍗
- Remove from the pan and drain on a wire rack or paper towels before serving hot. 🍽️
