Ingredients
- 🍚 Urad dal – for vada
- 🧅 Onions – chopped for sambhar
- 🥕 Mixed vegetables – for sambhar (e.g., carrots, pumpkin)
- 🧄 Garlic – minced for sambhar
- 🌶️ Red chilies – for tempering
- 🌿 Curry leaves – for tempering
- 🫘 Toor dal – for sambhar
- 🍅 Tomatoes – chopped for sambhar
- 💧 Tamarind pulp – for sambhar
- 🧂 Spices – (turmeric, sambhar powder)
Instructions
- 🥣 Soak urad dal, grind into batter, and deep-fry to make vada.
- 🥘 Cook toor dal until soft and mash it.
- 🔥 Sauté vegetables, add tomatoes and sambhar powder.
- 💧 Add tamarind pulp, cooked dal, and simmer.
- 🌶️ Temper with mustard seeds, red chilies, and curry leaves. Serve vada with hot sambhar.
