Sweet braised pork ribs

Ingredients

  • 🍖 Pork ribs – 2 lbs
  • 🍶 Soy sauce – 1/2 cup
  • 🍯 Honey – 1/4 cup
  • 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
  • 🌿 Ginger – 1 tbsp, grated
  • 🌶️ Chili flakes – 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • ⭐ Star anise – 2 pieces
  • 🧅 Onion – 1, chopped

Instructions

  • 🔥 Sear pork ribs in a pot until browned on all sides.
  • 🧅 Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté for 2 minutes.
  • 🍶 Pour in soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, chili flakes (if using), and star anise.
  • 💧 Add enough water to cover the ribs. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, or until ribs are tender.
  • ♨️ Remove ribs from the pot and increase heat to reduce the sauce to a glaze. Return ribs to the pot and coat with the glaze. Serve hot.
