Ingredients
- 🫘 Dried Fava Beans – 1 cup
- 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, chopped
- 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- 🍋 Lemon – 1, juiced
- 🌶️ Chili Pepper – 1, optional
- 🌿 Parsley – chopped, for garnish
- 💧 Olive Oil – for cooking
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- ✨ Cumin – 1 tsp
- 💧 Water – for soaking and cooking
Instructions
- 💧 Soak fava beans overnight in water.
- 🥘 Drain beans and simmer in a pot with fresh water until very tender (about 1-2 hours).
- 🔥 Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until softened.
- 🥣 Mash some of the cooked beans and mix with sautéed onion and garlic.
- 🍋 Stir in lemon juice, cumin, salt, and chili (if using).
- 🌿 Garnish with parsley and serve warm with pita bread.
