Ingredients

  • 🌊 Unagi (eel) – 2 fillets
  • 🍚 Cooked Rice – 2 bowls
  • 🍶 Soy Sauce – 2 tbsp
  • 🍯 Mirin – 1 tbsp
  • 🍥 Sugar – 1 tsp
  • 🌱 Nori (seaweed) – for garnish
  • 🌶️ Sansho pepper – to taste (optional)

Instructions

  • 🔪 Prepare Unagi: Cut into serving size pieces.
  • ♨️ Make Sauce: Combine soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  • 🦣 Grill or Broil: Baste unagi with sauce and grill/broil until heated through and glazed.
  • 🍚 Serve: Place rice in bowls, top with unagi, and drizzle with extra sauce.
  • 🌱 Garnish: Sprinkle with nori and sansho pepper.
