Ingredients
- 🌾 Flour – 4 cups
- 🥛 Milk – 1 cup, lukewarm
- 🍬 Sugar – 1/2 cup
- 🧈 Butter – 1 cup, melted
- 🥚 Eggs – 2 large
- 🍋 Lemon zest – 1 tsp
- 🍊 Orange zest – 1 tsp
- 🍇 Raisins – 1 cup
- 🍒 Candied cherries – 1/2 cup
- 🌰 Almonds – 1/2 cup, slivered
- 🌱 Yeast – 2 1/4 tsp
Instructions
- 🌱 Activate yeast in lukewarm milk with a bit of sugar.
- 🌾 In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, lemon zest, orange zest, and salt.
- 🥚 Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- 🍇 Knead in raisins, candied cherries, and almonds. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- ♨️ Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- 🔪 Shape the dough into a traditional stollen shape. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes, or until golden brown.
- ✨ Let cool and dust generously with powdered sugar.
