Spicy Sipola

Ingredients
- 2 large onions 🧅, thinly sliced
- 2 green chilies 🌶️, finely chopped
- 1 inch ginger 🫚, grated
- 2 cloves garlic 🧄, minced
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 💛
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder ❤️
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
- 2 tablespoons gram flour (besan)
- 1 tablespoon rice flour
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro 🌿
- Salt to taste 🧂
- Oil for frying 🛢️
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sliced onions, green chilies, ginger, and garlic. Mix well.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, asafoetida, gram flour, rice flour, cilantro, and salt. Mix thoroughly until onions are well coated. Add a tablespoon of water if needed.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan or wok over medium heat.
- Carefully drop small portions of the onion mixture into the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the sipola until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally. ⏳
- Remove the fried sipola with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. ♨️
- Serve hot and crispy with your favorite chutney or sauce. Enjoy! 🎉
