Ingredients
- 1 lb pasta (spaghetti 🍝, penne)
- 1/4 cup olive oil 🫒
- 2 cloves garlic 🧄, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes 🍅
- 1/2 cup pesto 🌿
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 🧀
- Salt 🧂 and pepper 🌶️ to taste
- Fresh basil leaves 🍃 for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water. 💧
- While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. 🔥
- Stir in crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. 🥄
- Stir in pesto and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 🧂🌶️
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. If sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached. 🍝
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves, if desired. 🍃 Enjoy! 🎉
