Ingredients

  • 🥛 Yogurt – 1 cup
  • 💧 Water – 1 cup
  • 🌶️ Ginger-green chili paste – 1 tsp
  • 🌿 Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • 🌱 Asafoetida (hing) – a pinch
  • 🥥 Grated coconut – for garnish
  • 🌿 Cilantro – for garnish
  • ⚫ Mustard seeds – for tempering
  • 🌿 Curry leaves – for tempering

Instructions

  • 🥣 Mix gram flour, yogurt, water, ginger-chili paste, turmeric, and asafoetida to form a smooth batter.
  • 🔥 Cook the batter in a pan over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens and forms a lump-free paste.
  • ⚪ Spread the cooked batter thinly and evenly on a clean, flat surface like a greased plate or countertop.
  • 🔪 Allow it to cool slightly, then cut into strips and roll them tightly.
  • ✨ Temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves and garnish with grated coconut and cilantro. Serve fresh.
