Ingredients
- 🖤 Black Gram Dal (Urad Dal) – 1 cup soaked overnight
- 🌱 Fenugreek Seeds – 1 tsp soaked overnight
- 🌶️ Green Chilies – 2-3 finely chopped
- 🌿 Ginger – 1 inch grated
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 🫙 Asafoetida (Hing) – a pinch
- 💧 Water – as needed for grinding and fermentation
- 🌻 Oil – for deep frying
- 🥕 Carrots – grated (optional)
- 🧅 Onion – chopped (optional)
- 🌿 Cilantro – for garnish
Instructions
- 🖤 Grind soaked dal and fenugreek seeds into a smooth batter using minimal water. Add ginger, green chilies, salt, and asafoetida.
- 🥣 Mix well, cover, and ferment the batter in a warm place for 6-8 hours or overnight.
- ♨️ Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer on medium heat.
- 🥄 Take small portions of the fermented batter and gently drop them into the hot oil to make wadas.
- 🔥 Fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove and drain excess oil on paper towels. Serve hot with chutney.
