Ingredients

  • 🍚 Rice – 2 cups
  • 🌱 Urad Dal – 1 cup
  • 💧 Water – as needed
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 🥄 Oil – for greasing

Instructions

  • 🌱 Soak rice and urad dal separately for 4-5 hours.
  • 🍚 Grind them separately into smooth batters, then mix together with salt.
  • 🥣 Allow the batter to ferment overnight or for 8-12 hours.
  • 🔥 Grease idli molds and pour the batter into them.
  • ♨️ Steam the idlis in a steamer for 10-12 minutes until cooked through and fluffy.
