Ingredients

  • 🌱 Dried chickpeas – soaked overnight
  • 🧅 Onion – roughly chopped
  • 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves
  • 🌿 Fresh parsley – chopped
  • 🌿 Fresh cilantro – chopped
  • 🧂 Spices – cumin, coriander, salt
  • 🫘 Sesame seeds – for coating
  • 🛢️ Oil – for frying

Instructions

  • 🥣 Grind soaked chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, and spices in a food processor until a coarse mixture forms. Do not over-process.
  • 🖐️ Form the mixture into small balls or patties. You can coat them with sesame seeds if desired.
  • 🔥 Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • ♨️ Carefully drop the falafel into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes.
  • 🥖 Remove the falafel with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve in pita bread with your favorite toppings.
