Ingredients
- 🌱 Dried chickpeas – soaked overnight
- 🧅 Onion – roughly chopped
- 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves
- 🌿 Fresh parsley – chopped
- 🌿 Fresh cilantro – chopped
- 🧂 Spices – cumin, coriander, salt
- 🫘 Sesame seeds – for coating
- 🛢️ Oil – for frying
Instructions
- 🥣 Grind soaked chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, and spices in a food processor until a coarse mixture forms. Do not over-process.
- 🖐️ Form the mixture into small balls or patties. You can coat them with sesame seeds if desired.
- 🔥 Heat oil in a deep fryer or pot to 350°F (175°C).
- ♨️ Carefully drop the falafel into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes.
- 🥖 Remove the falafel with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve in pita bread with your favorite toppings.
