Clams with red sauce

Ingredients

  • 🦪 Fresh clams – 1 kg
  • 🍅 Canned crushed tomatoes – 28 oz
  • 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
  • 🌶️ Red pepper flakes – 1/2 tsp
  • 🌿 Fresh parsley – chopped
  • 🍷 Dry white wine – 1/2 cup
  • 🧅 Onion - 1/2, chopped
  • 🥖 Crusty bread - for serving

Instructions

  • 🧅 Sauté garlic and onion in olive oil until softened.
  • 🌶️ Add red pepper flakes and crushed tomatoes; simmer for 10 minutes.
  • 🍷 Pour in white wine and bring to a simmer.
  • 🦪 Add clams, cover, and cook until they open (5-7 minutes). Discard any that don't open.
  • 🌿 Garnish with parsley and serve with crusty bread.
