Ingredients

  • Young sticky rice (cốm)
  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Coconut flakes (optional)
  • Banana leaves 🍌 (for wrapping)

Instructions

  • Prepare sugar syrup: In a pan, combine sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Let it cool slightly. 🥣
  • Mix cốm with sugar syrup: Gently mix the cốm with the sugar syrup until evenly coated. Be careful not to break the cốm. 🍚
  • Add coconut flakes (optional): If using, add coconut flakes to the cốm mixture and mix well. 🥥
  • Wrap in banana leaves: Take a portion of the cốm mixture and wrap it tightly in banana leaves. 🍃
  • Steam the cốm (optional): For a softer texture, steam the wrapped cốm for about 10-15 minutes. ♨️
  • Serve and enjoy: Serve the Cốm làng Vòng immediately or at room temperature. Enjoy as a snack or dessert! 🎉
