Ingredients

  • 🥩 Short ribs – 2 lbs
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 large, chopped
  • 🥕 Carrots – 2 medium, chopped
  • 🌿 Fresh thyme – 2 sprigs
  • 🍷 Red wine – 1 cup
  • 🥣 Beef broth – 4 cups
  • 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
  • 🧂 Salt & pepper – to taste

Instructions

  • 🔥 Sear short ribs on all sides in a large pot or Dutch oven.
  • 🧅 Remove ribs and sauté onions, carrots, and garlic until softened.
  • 🍷 Deglaze the pot with red wine, scraping up any browned bits.
  • 🥣 Add beef broth, thyme, and seared ribs back to the pot. Bring to a simmer.
  • 🥘 Cover and braise in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 3 hours, or until the meat is very tender.
  • ✨ Serve over mashed potatoes or polenta, garnished with fresh herbs.
