Ingredients

  • 🍚 Raw rice – 1 cup
  • 🟡 Toor dal (split pigeon peas) – 1/2 cup
  • 🟡 Chana dal (split chickpeas) – 1/4 cup
  • 🟡 Moong dal – 1/4 cup
  • 🌶️ Dry red chilies – 3-4
  • 🌿 Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 medium finely chopped
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste

Instructions

  • 🥣 Soak the rice and all lentils together in water for at least 4 hours.
  • 🌪️ Blend the soaked mixture with chilies, curry leaves, and salt into a coarse, thick batter.
  • 🧅 Mix in the chopped onions and a little water to reach a spreadable consistency.
  • 🍳 Heat a greased pan and spread a ladle of batter thinly; drizzle oil around the edges.
  • 🔥 Cook until both sides are golden brown and crispy, then serve hot with chutney.
