Ingredients
- 💛 Yellow lentils (daal) – 1 cup
- 🧅 Onion – finely chopped
- 🍅 Tomato – finely chopped
- 🧄 Garlic – minced
- 🌶️ Green chili – chopped
- 🌿 Coriander leaves – for garnish
- 🥄 Cumin seeds
- 🥄 Turmeric powder
- 🥄 Red chili powder
- 🍋 Lemon juice
Instructions
- 🥣 Cook the daal until soft. Mash lightly and set aside.
- 🔥 Heat ghee or oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
- 🧅 Add onions and garlic, sauté until golden brown. Add green chili and tomatoes, cook until softened.
- 🌶️ Add turmeric powder and red chili powder, sauté for a minute. Pour the cooked daal into the pan.
- 🌿 Simmer for 5-7 minutes, garnish with fresh coriander leaves and a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve hot with rice or roti.
