Ingredients
- 🐔 Chicken or Meat – 1 lb, cut into pieces
- 🧅 Onions – 2 large, chopped
- 🌶️ Red chilies – 6-8, adjust to taste
- 🥥 Coconut – 1 cup, grated
- 🧄 Garlic – 6 cloves, minced
- 🌿 Ginger – 1 inch piece, grated
- 🌱 Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- 🌿 Coriander seeds – 2 tbsp
- 🌿 Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- 🖤 Black peppercorns – 1 tsp
- 🌱 Poppy seeds – 1 tbsp
- 🌱 Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- 🧅 Cinnamon stick – 1 inch piece
- 🍃 Cloves – 4-5
- 🍃 Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- 🍋 Tamarind – small ball size
Instructions
- 🔥 Roast spices (red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorns, poppy seeds, mustard seeds, cinnamon, cloves) and coconut separately, then grind to a fine paste with tamarind.
- 🔥 Sauté onions, ginger, garlic until golden brown. Add the ground spice paste and curry leaves and cook for a few minutes.
- 🥘 Add chicken or meat and turmeric powder, and sauté until well coated with the spice mixture.
- 💧 Add water to cover the chicken/meat and simmer until it is tender and the gravy has thickened.
- 🌿 Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or bread. ✨
