Ingredients

  • Fermented millet 🌾
  • Hot water 💧
  • Bamboo vessel (Tongba) 🎋
  • Bamboo straw (Pipsing) 🥢

Instructions

  • Prepare the fermented millet: This typically involves cooking, cooling, and fermenting millet with Marcha (starter culture) for 1-2 weeks. The exact process varies.
  • Once fermentation is complete, fill the Tongba (bamboo vessel) about 3/4 full with the fermented millet. 🌾
  • Pour hot water 💧 into the Tongba until it reaches near the top.
  • Let it steep for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  • Insert the Pipsing (bamboo straw) 🥢 into the Tongba and sip the beverage. Refill with hot water as needed until the millet loses its flavor. Enjoy! 😊
