Ingredients
- 2 cups idli batter (fermented)
- Thatte idli moulds/plates 🫓
- Idli podi (gunpowder) 🌶️
- Ghee or oil 🧈
- Water for steaming 💧
Instructions
- Grease the thatte idli moulds with ghee or oil. 🧈
- Pour the idli batter into the greased moulds. Make sure you leave some space at the top. 🥣
- Steam the idlis in a steamer or pressure cooker without the whistle for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. ⏲️
- Once steamed, let the idlis cool slightly before removing them from the moulds. 🧊
- Generously sprinkle idli podi on top of each idli. 🌶️
- Drizzle some ghee or oil over the podi. 🧈
- Serve hot with chutney or sambar. 🍲
