Ingredients

  • 🍕 Pizza dough – homemade or store-bought
  • 🍅 Canned tomatoes – crushed
  • 🧅 Onion – thinly sliced
  • 🐟 Anchovies – chopped (optional)
  • 🧀 Caciocavallo cheese – grated
  • 🍞 Breadcrumbs – seasoned
  • 🌿 Oregano – dried
  • 🧄 Garlic – minced
  • 🫒 Olive oil – for drizzling

Instructions

  • 🔥 Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • 🧅 Sauté onions in olive oil until softened. Add garlic and anchovies (if using); cook briefly.
  • 🍅 Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  • 🍕 Stretch pizza dough onto a baking sheet. Spread tomato sauce evenly.
  • 🧀 Sprinkle with caciocavallo cheese and seasoned breadcrumbs. Drizzle with olive oil.
  • ♨️ Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and topping is bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
