Ingredients
- 🍰 All-purpose flour – 2 1/2 cups
- 🍫 Unsweetened cocoa powder – 2 tbsp
- 🧂 Baking soda – 1 tsp
- 🧂 Salt – 1 tsp
- 🧈 Unsalted butter – 1 cup
- 🍚 Granulated sugar – 2 cups
- 🥚 Large eggs – 2
- 🧪 Red food coloring – 2 tbsp
- 🥛 Buttermilk – 1 cup
- ☕ White vinegar – 1 tsp
- 🍦 Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
- 🧀 Cream cheese – 8 oz
- 🍥 Powdered sugar – 3 cups
Instructions
- 🔥 Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour cake pans.
- 🥣 Whisk together dry ingredients in a bowl. Cream butter and sugar.
- 🥚 Beat in eggs, then add food coloring. Alternate adding dry and wet ingredients.
- 🥄 Mix in vinegar and vanilla extract. Pour batter into pans.
- ⏲️ Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely before frosting.
- 🧀 For frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter. Gradually add powdered sugar.
