Ingredients

  • 🍅 Tomatoes – roughly chopped
  • 🧅 Onion – finely chopped
  • 🧄 Garlic – minced
  • 🌿 Curry leaves – few sprigs
  • 🌶️ Green chilies – slit
  • 💧 Tamarind pulp – extract from tamarind
  • 🥄 Rasam powder – store bought or homemade

Instructions

  • 🔥 Heat oil in a pot and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
  • 🧅 Add onions, garlic, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn translucent.
  • 🍅 Add tomatoes and cook until they soften.
  • 💧 Pour in tamarind pulp, add rasam powder, salt, and water. Bring to a simmer.
  • 🌿 Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
