Ingredients

  • 🐷 Pork leg – about 2 lbs
  • 🍚 Rice – 2 cups
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 chopped
  • 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves minced
  • 🌿 Ginger – 1 inch piece
  • 🌶️ Soy sauce – 1/4 cup
  • ⭐ Star anise – 2 pieces
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 💧 Water – 4 cups

Instructions

  • 🔥 Sear pork leg in a large pot until browned on all sides.
  • 🧅 Add onion, garlic, and ginger to the pot and sauté until fragrant.
  • 🌶️ Pour in soy sauce, star anise, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, or until pork is tender.
  • 🍚 Stir in rice, cover, and cook for 20 minutes, or until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.
  • ✨ Shred the pork, mix with the rice, and serve hot.
