Pork Bone Soup

Ingredients

  • 🍖 Pork bones – 2 lbs
  • 🧅 Onion – 1, quartered
  • 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, crushed
  • 🌿 Ginger – 1 inch piece
  • 🍶 Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • 🌶️ Gochujang – 1 tbsp (optional)
  • 🥬 Napa cabbage – 1/4 head, chopped
  • 🍄 Mushrooms – 1 cup, sliced
  • 💧 Water – 8 cups
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 🌱 Green onions – for garnish

Instructions

  • 💧 Rinse pork bones thoroughly and soak in cold water for 30 minutes.
  • ♨️ Bring water to a boil, add pork bones, onion, garlic, and ginger. Simmer for 1.5 - 2 hours, skimming off any scum.
  • 🍲 Remove pork bones and strain broth. Return broth to pot.
  • 🥬 Add Napa cabbage and mushrooms. Cook until tender.
  • 🍖 Add soy sauce, gochujang (if using), and salt to taste. Return pork bones to the soup. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
