Ingredients

  • 🐙 Octopus – 1.5 lbs
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, chopped
  • 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
  • 🌿 Fresh parsley – chopped
  • 🍷 Red wine – 1/2 cup
  • 🍅 Canned tomatoes – 1 (28 ounce) can
  • 🌶️ Red pepper flakes – to taste
  • 🫒 Olive oil – as needed
  • 🍋 Lemon – 1, cut into wedges

Instructions

  • 🔥 Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
  • 🐙 Add octopus and cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 🍷 Pour in red wine and let it reduce slightly. Add canned tomatoes and red pepper flakes.
  • 🥘 Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the octopus is tender.
  • 🌿 Stir in fresh parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges.
