Ingredients
- 🐙 Octopus – 1.5 lbs
- 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, chopped
- 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- 🌿 Fresh parsley – chopped
- 🍷 Red wine – 1/2 cup
- 🍅 Canned tomatoes – 1 (28 ounce) can
- 🌶️ Red pepper flakes – to taste
- 🫒 Olive oil – as needed
- 🍋 Lemon – 1, cut into wedges
Instructions
- 🔥 Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
- 🐙 Add octopus and cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 🍷 Pour in red wine and let it reduce slightly. Add canned tomatoes and red pepper flakes.
- 🥘 Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the octopus is tender.
- 🌿 Stir in fresh parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges.
