Ingredients

  • 🧅 Onions – finely chopped
  • 🫘 Toor dal – 1 cup
  • 🍅 Tomatoes – chopped
  • 🌶️ Sambar powder – 2 tbsp
  • 🌿 Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  • 🌱 Tamarind pulp – 2 tbsp

Instructions

  • 🥣 Cook toor dal until soft.
  • 🧅 Sauté onions until golden brown.
  • 🍅 Add tomatoes, sambar powder, and cook well.
  • 🥘 Combine dal and onion-tomato mixture, add tamarind pulp, and simmer.
  • 🌿 Garnish with curry leaves and serve hot with rice or idli.
