Ingredients
- For the Dough:
- 2 cups All-purpose flour 🍚
- 1/2 tsp Salt 🧂
- 3/4 cup Water 💧
- For the Filling:
- 1 lb Ground chicken/lamb/pork 🍖
- 1 medium Onion, finely chopped 🧅
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced 🧄
- 1 inch Ginger, grated 🥕
- 2-3 Green chilies, finely chopped 🌶️
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce 🍶
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil 🌻
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder ⚫
- Salt to taste 🧂
- 2 tbsp chopped Cilantro/Coriander leaves 🌿
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Add water gradually and knead into a firm, smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes. ⏳
- Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine ground meat, chopped onion, garlic, ginger, green chilies, soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, salt, and cilantro. Mix well. 🥣
- Shape the Momos: Divide the dough into small portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle (approx. 3-4 inches in diameter). Place a spoonful of filling in the center. 🥄
- Pleat and Seal: Bring the edges of the circle together to form pleats, sealing the filling inside to create a momo shape. There are many ways to fold, choose your favorite! 🥟
- Steam the Momos: Grease a steamer basket or plate. Place the momos in the steamer, leaving some space between them. ♨️
- Steam for 15-20 minutes, or until the momos are cooked through. ⏲️
- Serve: Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce (chutney, soy sauce, chili oil). Enjoy! 🎉
