Ingredients
- 🐔 Chicken or Mutton – 500g, cut into pieces
- 🧅 Onions – 2 medium, finely chopped
- 🍅 Tomatoes – 2 medium, finely chopped
- 🧄 Ginger-Garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- 🌶️ Green chilies – 2-3, slit
- 🌿 Coriander leaves – for garnish
- 🥄 Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- 🥄 Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- 🥄 Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- 🥄 Garam masala – 1 tsp
- 🌱 Curry leaves – a few sprigs
- 🍚 Rice – to serve
Instructions
- 🔥 Heat oil in a cooker or pot, add curry leaves and green chilies, sauté for a minute.
- 🧅 Add onions and sauté until golden brown, then add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
- 🍅 Add tomatoes and cook until they soften, then add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Sauté for a few minutes.
- 🐔 Add chicken or mutton pieces and salt, mix well, and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 💧 Add water as needed for gravy consistency, close the lid, and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or until the meat is tender. If using a pot, simmer until tender.
- 🌿 Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
