Ingredients

  • 🌱 Yellow Split Peas (Dal) – 1 cup
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, chopped
  • 🍅 Tomato – 1 medium, chopped
  • 🫚 Ginger – 1 tsp, grated
  • 🌶️ Green chilies – 1-2, chopped
  • 🌿 Cilantro – for garnish
  • 💧 Water – as needed
  • 🧈 Ghee or oil – 2 tbsp
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • ✨ Spices (Turmeric, Cumin, Coriander powder) – 1 tsp each

Instructions

  • 🌱 Rinse the dal and soak for 15 minutes.
  • 🧅 Sauté onions and chilies in ghee until golden.
  • 🍅 Add tomatoes, ginger, and spices, cook until softened.
  • 🥘 Add soaked dal and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer until tender.
  • 🌿 Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti. ✨
