Ingredients

  • 🍚 Idli Rice – 2 cups
  • ⚪ Urad Dal (split black lentils) – 1/2 cup
  • 💧 Water – as needed
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 💧 Oil – for greasing

Instructions

  • 🥣 Soak rice and dal separately for 4-5 hours.
  • ⚙️ Grind into a smooth batter, mix together with salt, and ferment overnight.
  • ♨️ Grease idli molds and pour batter into them.
  • ♨️ Steam for 10-12 minutes until cooked.
  • 🍽️ Serve hot with sambar and chutney.
