Ingredients

  • 🥛 Milk – 2 cups
  • ☕ Hojicha Tea Leaves – 2 tbsp
  • 🥚 Egg Yolks – 4 large
  • 🍬 Sugar – ¾ cup
  • 🍦 Heavy Cream – 1 cup

Instructions

  • ☕ Steep hojicha in warm milk, then strain. Discard tea leaves.
  • 🥚 Whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick.
  • 🔥 Slowly whisk in the warm hojicha milk, then heat gently until it coats the back of a spoon.
  • 🧊 Stir in heavy cream and chill thoroughly in the fridge.
  • 🌀 Churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Freeze to harden.
