Ingredients

  • 🌰 Hazelnuts – 1 cup, toasted and finely ground
  • 🍰 All-purpose flour – 2 cups, sifted
  • 🥚 Eggs – 4 large, at room temperature
  • 🧈 Unsalted butter – 1 cup, softened
  • 🍬 Sugar – 1.5 cups, granulated
  • 🍫 Chocolate – 200g, for frosting or ganache
  • 🥛 Heavy cream – 1 cup, for filling

Instructions

  • 🥣 Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then mix in eggs and ground hazelnuts.
  • 🔥 Fold in the flour, pour into pans, and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes.
  • 🧊 Allow the cake layers to cool completely on a wire rack before frosting.
  • 🍰 Layer the cakes with chocolate frosting or hazelnut cream in between.
  • ✨ Decorate with whole hazelnuts and extra chocolate shavings before serving.
