Ingredients

  • 🥩 Beef Short Ribs – 2 lbs
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 large, sliced
  • 🥕 Carrots – 2 medium, peeled and cut
  • 🍄 Shiitake Mushrooms – 6 dried
  • 🌰 Chestnuts – 1/2 cup, peeled
  • 🍐 Asian Pear – 1/2, grated
  • 🧄 Garlic – 4 cloves, minced
  • 🍶 Soy Sauce – 1/2 cup
  • 🍚 Sugar – 3 tbsp
  • 💧 Water – 4 cups
  • 🌿 Green Onions – for garnish

Instructions

  • 🥩 Soak short ribs in cold water for 30 minutes to remove blood.
  • ♨️ Boil ribs briefly, then rinse to remove impurities.
  • 🥘 Combine ribs with onion, carrots, mushrooms, chestnuts, pear, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, and water in a pot.
  • ⏳ Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 90 minutes or until the meat is tender.
  • 🌿 Garnish with green onions before serving hot.
