Ingredients

  • 🍝 Fettuccine pasta – 1 lb
  • 🥩 Ground meat – 1 lb (beef or pork)
  • 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, chopped
  • 🥕 Carrots – 1 medium, chopped
  • 🌿 Celery – 1 stalk, chopped
  • 🍅 Canned tomatoes – 28 oz
  • 🍷 Red wine – 1/2 cup (optional)
  • 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
  • 🌿 Fresh basil – for garnish
  • 🧀 Parmesan cheese – for serving

Instructions

  • 🔥 Brown the ground meat in a large pot or Dutch oven.
  • 🧅 Add onion, carrots, and celery and cook until softened.
  • 🧄 Stir in garlic, then add tomatoes and red wine (if using).
  • 🌿 Simmer for at least 1.5 hours, or until the sauce has thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  • 🍝 Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Serve ragu over pasta, garnished with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.
