Ingredients

  • 🍚 Rice – 2 cups
  • 🌱 Urad Dal – 1 cup
  • 🌶️ Red Chillies – 4-5
  • 🧅 Onions – 1 medium, chopped
  • 🌿 Curry Leaves – a few
  • 🫘 Chana Dal – 1/2 cup
  • 🧂 Salt – to taste
  • 💧 Oil – for cooking

Instructions

  • 🥣 Soak rice and dals separately for at least 4 hours.
  • ⚙️ Grind the soaked ingredients with red chillies to a smooth batter.
  • 🧂 Add salt to the batter and let it ferment overnight.
  • 🔥 Heat oil on a griddle, pour a ladle of batter, and spread it gently.
  • 🧅 Sprinkle chopped onions and curry leaves on top. Cook until golden brown on both sides. Serve hot with chutney.
