Ingredients
- 💛 Yellow lentils (dal) – 1 cup
- 🧅 Onion – 1 medium, chopped
- 🍅 Tomato – 1 medium, chopped
- 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- 🌶️ Green chili – 1, chopped
- 🌿 Ginger – 1 inch, grated
- 🥄 Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- 🥄 Cumin powder – 1 tsp
- 🥄 Coriander powder – 1 tsp
- 🌿 Cilantro – for garnish
Instructions
- 🥣 Rinse lentils and soak for 30 minutes.
- 🔥 In a pot, sauté onions, garlic, ginger, and green chili in oil until golden.
- 🍅 Add tomatoes and spices; cook until the tomatoes soften.
- 🥘 Add the soaked lentils and water (3 cups); bring to a boil, then simmer until lentils are tender.
- 🌿 Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti.
