Ingredients
- 🥓 Jamón (Spanish ham) – finely diced
- 🥛 Milk – 2 cups
- 🧈 Butter – 1/4 cup
- 🌾 Flour – 1/2 cup
- 🧅 Onion – finely chopped
- 🥚 Eggs – for coating
- 🥖 Breadcrumbs – for coating
- 🛢️ Olive oil – for frying
- 🧂 Salt – to taste
- 🌶️ Pepper – to taste
Instructions
- 🧅 Sauté onion in butter until softened.
- 🌾 Add flour and cook for a minute to make a roux.
- 🥛 Gradually add milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until thickened.
- 🥓 Stir in jamón and season with salt and pepper.
- ❄️ Let the mixture cool completely in the fridge.
- 🥄 Shape the mixture into small croquettes.
- 🥚 Dip each croquette in beaten egg and then coat in breadcrumbs.
- 🔥 Fry in hot olive oil until golden brown and crispy. Serve warm. 🍽️
