Ingredients

  • Chicken skin (200g) 🐔
  • Soy sauce (2 tbsp) 🍶
  • Mirin (1 tbsp) 🍚
  • Sake (1 tbsp) 🍶
  • Sugar (1 tsp) 🍬
  • Ginger (1/2 tsp, grated) 🫚
  • Skewers (6-8) 🍢
  • Sesame oil (1 tsp) 💧

Instructions

  • Prepare the chicken skin: Lay the chicken skin flat and cut into strips approximately 1 inch wide.🔪
  • Thread the skin onto skewers: Fold the strips accordion-style and thread them onto the skewers.🍢
  • Make the sauce: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and grated ginger. Mix well.🥣
  • Grill or pan-fry the skewers: Heat sesame oil in a pan or preheat your grill to medium heat.🔥
  • Cook the skewers: Place the skewers in the pan or on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.🥓
  • Baste with sauce: During the last few minutes of cooking, brush the skewers with the sauce, allowing it to caramelize. 🍯
