Ingredients
- 🍚 Basmati Rice – 2 cups
- 🐔 Chicken – 1.5 lbs, cut into pieces
- 🧅 Onions – 2 large, sliced
- 🍅 Tomatoes – 2 medium, chopped
- 🧄 Ginger-Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp
- 🌶️ Green Chilies – 2-3, slit
- 🌿 Mint Leaves – handful
- 🌿 Cilantro – handful
- 🥄 Biryani Masala – 2 tbsp
- 🥛 Yogurt – 1/2 cup
- 🍋 Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp
- 🥄 Ghee – 2 tbsp
- 💧 Water – as needed
Instructions
- 🐔 Marinate chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, biryani masala, and lemon juice. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- 🧅 Sauté sliced onions in ghee until golden brown. Remove half for garnish.
- 🔥 Add marinated chicken, tomatoes, green chilies, mint, and cilantro to the pot. Cook until chicken is partially cooked.
- 🍚 Layer the partially cooked rice over the chicken. Add saffron-infused milk (optional).
- 🥘 Cook on low heat, covered, until rice is fully cooked and chicken is tender. Garnish with fried onions and serve hot.
