Ingredients
- 🌾 Flour – 250g
- 🧈 Butter – 125g, cold
- 🥚 Egg – 1
- 🫘 Dried fruit – 150g (raisins, currants)
- 🍊 Mixed peel – 50g
- 🌰 Brown sugar – 75g
- 🍋 Lemon zest – 1 tsp
- 🥛 Milk – 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 🥣 Make the pastry: Rub butter into flour, add egg and mix to a dough. Chill for 15 mins.
- 🍎 Prepare the filling: Mix dried fruit, mixed peel, brown sugar, and lemon zest.
- 🔥 Roll out pastry, line a tart tin. Fill with fruit mixture, dampening edges with milk.
- ✨ Cover with a pastry lid, crimp edges. Brush with milk and bake at 180°C for 30 mins until golden.
