Cavatelli San Marzano Tomato Sugo

Ingredients
- 🍝 Cavatelli pasta – 1 pound
- 🍅 San Marzano tomatoes – 28 oz can
- 🧄 Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- 🧅 Onion – 1/2, chopped
- 🌿 Fresh basil – for garnish
- 🧀 Parmesan cheese – grated, for serving
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp
Instructions
- 🔥 Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, cook until softened.
- 🍅 Add San Marzano tomatoes (crushed or whole) to the pot. Simmer for at least 20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- 💧 Cook cavatelli pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- 🍝 Add the cooked pasta to the tomato sauce. Toss to coat, adding pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
- 🌿 Garnish with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese before serving.
