Ingredients
- 🦢 Whole goose – about 10-12 lbs
- 🥖 Bread dough – for braiding
- 🍎 Apples – quartered
- 🧅 Onions – quartered
- 🌿 Fresh herbs – rosemary, thyme
- 🧈 Butter – melted
- 🧂 Salt & pepper – to taste
Instructions
- 🦢 Prepare the goose by cleaning and patting dry. Season inside and out with salt and pepper.
- 🍎 Stuff the cavity with apples, onions, and fresh herbs.
- 🥖 Cover the goose with braided bread dough, ensuring the bird is fully encased.
- 🔥 Brush the bread with melted butter and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 2 hours, or until the goose is cooked through and the bread is golden brown.
- 🔪 Let rest for 15 minutes before carving and serving.
